Leccino is originally an Italian variety, but it has been cultivated in Istria since the 1940’s. The serene fragrance of fresh green olives, ripe green tomatoes, and warm grass parallels the crisp, moderate, and mildly piquant and bitter taste while floral notes pirouette under the nose and across the palette.
Leccino is an exquisite pairing for young cheese and a superb finishing touch for fish and seafood. It also adds a facet of extravagance to deep-fried Istrian Kroštule sweet pastries.
