Ursaria is close to our heart as one of our neighbors in our Croatian home, Vrsar. We regularly visit Frank Radovčić and enjoy the unique location of his olive groves in the nature preserve on the cliffs of Lim Estuary. Although some of the groves date back to the 18th century, the tract is now currently inside an environmentally protected area which means the olives and oils produced there are certified organic. Ursaria sits on 21 hectares of pristine land, 4 hectares of which are home to autochthonous Istrian olives. Of the grove’s 5000 trees, 70% are native varieties of Istarska bjelica, Buža, and Rosignola while the rest are noted foreign varieties of Leccino, Pendolino, Picholina and Oblica.
