When Franc Arman founded his winery with his father, Edoardo, in 1997, he built it upon the foundations of a family culture of growing grapes that began in 1850. More than 20 years before Franc Arman was established, Edoardo began exclusively planting Istrian native Malvasia and Teran grapes. He dedicated his life to perfecting the art of making “dobrega (quality)” wine.
Today, Franc and his son, Oliver, continue to draw upon their rich family heritage to produce award winning wines with the most modern oenological technology integrated with traditional, natural processes. Oliver maintains the family cellar, five meters underground, as well as sales, marketing, and export. Meanwhile, Franc continues the Arman family custom of cultivating exceptional grapes, selecting and picking only the highest caliber grapes by hand. This synergy of contemporary and time-honored practices produces a selection of wines enjoyed and renowned around the world.
