Lena Puhar O’Grady, her husband Paul, and her parents Silvano and Ines are the only four employees at their family-run, Istrian company, Brist. Like many other families along the Istrian peninsula, they have a rich family tradition of producing olive oil that goes back over a century.
Brist is dedicated to ensuring only the highest quality of oil is produced and each olive is picked by hand to protect it. This commitment to excellence has resulted in several awards such as the Gold Award at the 2022 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition in New York as well as being consistently placed in the prestigious EvoOleum World’s Top 100 Extra Virgin Olive Oils guide since 2019.
