If you've ever had truffle fries at a restaurant and wished you could make them at home, these following recipes are for you! These truffle fries are every bit as delicious as restaurant fries, with just the right hint of earthy truffle flavor. They're crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, perfectly salted and mixed with cheese for an extra-special touch. You'll feel so fancy, you won't know what to do with yourself!
1. Using Truffle Oil
Making delicious truffle fries is quite simple. You can bake, deep-fry, or air fry your french fries. Then, flavor them with some delicious truffle oil.
You should never use truffle oil for cooking as it will destroy delicate truffle oils and the desirable aroma will vanish. You should only use truffle oil for finishing your dish. What this means is that the fries need to be baked first, then finish with truffle oil. Another thing to keep in mind is that, like with any spice or seasoning, a little goes a long way. A little drizzle is all that’s necessary in most cases.
2. Using Truffle Salt
You can also use truffle salt to add truffle flavor to the fries. Simply add the salt to the baked fries, mix them up and they are ready to be served. Of course, you can use truffle oil and truffle salt in combination. However, either one on its own will suffice.
For both options, you can upgrade your truffle fries by adding shredded parmesan cheese and/or parsley to the fries.
3. Dip them in Truffle Mayo
For all of you who appreciate the least amount of effort: you can always simply dip your fries in truffle mayo.
4. The Istrian Way
This recipe is for all of you who want to go all in. The very special Istrian style we have discovered in Vrsar. For this, you prepare your fries as preferred. Simultaneously a tartufata has to be prepared as well. The recipe on how to make a tartufata can be looked up here. These truffle fries are best served in a bowl. First, add the tartufata, then the fries and for the finishing touch add thinly sliced parmesan cheese on top.
